YSD organized the Training on ICDS Service Delivery Norms and Accountability of AWWs
The Youth for Social Development organized the Training Workshop of ICDS Workers in collaboration with the Office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) – Berhampur on 17 February 2012 at Ganjam Kala Parishad. The purpose of the training workshop is to reorient the ICDS workers on their roles and responsibilities, raise their awareness on Right to Information Act and address issues on supply and demand side in order to bring transparency and accountability in the delivery of ICDS in Berhampur. Two (2) CDPOs, forty-seven (47) Anganwadi workers and two (2) Supervisors participated in the training. The activity was a successful exchange of challenges, information and insights on the implementation of ICDS in the community among the participants and YSD. The CDPOs were also able to respond to the problems presented which were gathered by YSD during community engagements. The AWWs highlighted their personal challenges in doing their work and the various gaps in service delivery mechanism of ICDS.
